Eyebrow lifting surgery
Performed under local anaesthesia or sedation, usually under an outpatient basis. The incision is made in an invisible area of the scalp, with the sutures removed after about 1 week. The scars become imperceptible on the scalp as time evolves. This procedure is often associated with eyelid surgery and is sometimes done using the same incision as the upper blepharoplasty.
The goal is to reposition of the eyebrows, especially the tail, which suffer a gradual decline with time and age, but also as a result of muscle action that causes its lowering. Some anatomical characteristics contribute to this situation. To counteract this fall, the frontal muscle contracts continuously and thus, the appearance of frontal wrinkles.
The intention of this technique is to give a younger look and appearance, to which we could associate with non-surgical rejuvenation techniques, such as the application of botulinum toxin.
Cirurgia de elevação das sobrancelhas – Brow Lift
Realizada sob anestesia local ou sedação, geralmente em regime ambulatório. A incisão é realizada numa zona não visível do couro cabeludo, procedendo-se à remoção das suturas ao fim de cerca de 1 semana. As cicatrizes tornam-se impercetíveis, no couro cabeludo, com a evolução no tempo. Este procedimento é frequentemente associado à cirurgia das pálpebras e por vezes faz-se utilizando a mesma incisão utilizada na blefaroplastia superior.
O objetivo é o reposicionamento das sobrancelhas, em especial a cauda, que vão sofrendo uma descida gradual com o tempo e a idade, mas também em consequência da ação de músculos que provocam o seu abaixamento. Algumas caraterísticas anatómicas favorecem a ocorrência desta situação. Para contrariar essa queda o músculo frontal contrai-se de forma continuada e condiciona, assim, o aparecimento de rugas frontais.
Pretende-se, com essa técnica, devolver um olhar e aparência mais jovem, a que poderão associar-se técnicas de rejuvenescimento não cirúrgico, como a aplicação de toxina botulínica.
